The retainer fee or charge for professional services paid via the Internet can be paid by electronic check (via PayPal) or through our credit card processing system. Both of these require the use of a third party verification service. With a payment by electronic check or credit card, lawyer and client both agree that these funds are a prepayment for immediate compensation for the lawyer’s commitment to perform future services, e.g., a flat-fee agreement, the funds are the property of the lawyer and may be deposited in the lawyer’s operating or business account. If you do not wish to enter into this arrangement, then you are welcome to mail us a check. Online payment will take place only after Attorney and Client have entered into an agreement concerning fees.
When you send confidential personal credit card information to us on our Web site, a secure server software (256-bit SSL encryption) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. The information is scrambled en route and decoded once it reaches our Web site. &NBSP; Other email that you may send to us may not be secure unless we advise you that security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting the information. For that reason, we ask that you do not send confidential information such as Social Security or account numbers to us through an unsecured email.
